The 19-year-old soldiered through multiple surgeries and months of agonizing treatment, including chemotherapy, to treat a rare brain tumor. Last month she announced she is cancer-free.
Have YOU got a story? EmailMichael Strahan's daughter Isabella has joyfully returned to college after taking a leave of absence amid her cancer battle.
Isabella broke the news by cheerfully posting a selfie with Jean to her Insta Stories, writing: 'Back at USC' in the school's red and gold colors. She was a college freshman when she was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in October after doctors found a tumor 'bigger than a golf ball' growing at the back of her brain, which caused her to suffer 'excruciating headaches' and vomiting.
At the beginning of the video, the teen opened up about the excruciating pain she was in after having her chemo port removed earlier. 'I also feel like the tube was going into my heart because my heart started cramping. I don't know if that's supposed to happen but… not enjoyable. It definitely doesn't feel great.'
Later she once again took to YouTube to share another update as she joyfully revealed she was cancer-free after having undergone her last MRI 'It was a great, great scan, everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don't have another doctor's appointment until October,' she said. She added: 'I miss my doctors already and everyone who's helped me because they're all so nice.
Isabella assured her fans that they would see her again - adding that she would share her college move-in day with them. Isabella was then seen arriving at the hospital and checking out her room, which was themed like the Disney Pixar film Inside Out; she was accompanied by her mom. She touched her neck where the tube used to be and admitted, 'It's so crazy to feel and there not be a huge thing .'Isabella has previously opened up about some of the terrible symptoms she has endured as a result of her chemotherapy.'My eyes are strained, they hurt to look to the sides. My whole mouth feels like I got one giant root canal,' she continued.
Initially, Isabella said she mistook her symptoms for vertigo. Michael confessed that when his daughter shared her symptoms with him, he never considered that they might be indications that she was battling cancer, particularly because she was just 18 and was so 'young, strong and healthy.' Isabella was ultimately diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which - according to GMA - accounts for 20 per cent of all childhood brain tumors
Once at the hospital, Isabella was told that she had developed a 'fast-growing four centimeter tumor in the back of her brain' that required emergency surgery.
