Michail Antonio was left trapped in his Ferrari for nearly an hour after a horror crash in Essex on Saturday, with the West Ham striker since undergoing surgery
Former Nottingham Forest striker Michail Antonio was left disoriented after crashing his Ferrari in a frightening incident on Saturday. The 34 year old underwent surgery for a lower-limb fracture at a London hospital following the crash.
"I said to him 'hello' to see if anyone was alive," recounted Samuel Woods, 34, who spoke to The Sun. "I heard sirens and told him that help was on its way. He was so disorientated. He said, 'Where am I? What's going on? What car am I in? '". In a statement released Sunday afternoon, his current club West Ham confirmed: "West Ham United can confirm Michail Antonio has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture following a road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon. Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days.", reports the Mirror.
Essex Police are conducting inquiries into the crash involving the West Ham star and are calling for anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage to come forward.
