While the new Michelin Star worthy restaurants may have grabbed the spotlight on Monday night, a whole host of further awards were bestowed by the Michelin inspectors to recognise "good food at moderate prices".
Michelin Stars were given out to fine dining restaurants across the UK and Ireland at the glittering annual awards ceremony held in Glasgow. And they included a new Michelin Star for Manchester at Skof, making it the second in the city alongside mana in Ancoats which retained its One Star rating. But also announced on Monday were 36 new Bib Gourmand awards by Michelin. Described as "not quite a star, but most definitely not a consolation prize", the Bib Gourmand is named after Bibendum, the friendly Michelin Man and the official company mascot for the Michelin Group.
This award, according to Michelin, is "a just-as-esteemed rating that recognizes friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices." While Manchester had success on the Michelin Star front, no new restaurants in the city, or indeed the wider Greater Manchester region, have been included on the new Bib Gourmand 2025 list.The new Bib Gourmand restaurants 2025 This year’s new Bib Gourmand restaurants are:
