Former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton expressed her nervousness of spending her first festive season teetotal following almost eight months of sobriety
Michelle Heaton has admitted that she’s “nervous” to spend her first Christmas sober after battling alcohol addiction in recent years.
Discussing the matter on Lorraine, Michelle said: "I'm almost eight months sober and I'm coming into celebrating Christmas for the first time without an alcoholic drink in my hand. “I can’t even explain how joyful I feel. I couldn't get to eight hours without picking up the drink towards the end, and here I am almost eight months clean and sober.”The singer admitted herself to mental health facility The Priory in April.
She told OK!: "I’ve learnt not to look back too much. I can’t change the past, I can only change the future now.
