In recent years, miniscule specks of plastic have been found at the bottom of the world’s oceans, in the Pyrenees , and even frozen in Arctic ice-cores.It was known that microplastics are picked up and transported by the wind, and scientists had speculated that snow could wash them from the air, leading to pollution on the land.
