Holidaymakers have reported missing their flights during the mass outage.
Edinburgh Airport has been hit with chaos during peak holiday season as a worldwide IT outage has sparked delays and huge queues.
Ryanair confirmed that the airline was also affected by the outage. Passengers have been urged to arrive three hours before scheduled departure times. Sky News has been forced off-air due to the glitch, which was reportedly caused by a fault in a Microsoft Windows update.
