A migrant advocate group on Tuesday slammed what they termed as “inconsistencies” in policies announced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in his second State of the Nation Address to improve the welfare of overseas Filipino workers .

Migrante also lamented how thousands of OFWs are still abused due to the alleged lack of a concrete plan for their protection. Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Maria Susan V. Ople, for her part, clarified that the Saudi government is already looking into the matter. Migrante also expressed concern over the possibility of the OFW Pass, which is currently being piloted by the DMW in 10 countries, to be used to collect more fees from OFWs.

The OFW Pass was created by the DMW to eventually be the free digital replacement for the overseas employment certificate .
