Migrants who fell overboard from small boats in the Channel have been rescued from the sea by lifeboat crews this morning.understands that Border Force and the Coastguard rescued 17 people from the water, with all of them recovered safely and taken ashore for routine health and safety checks.

“They had every RNLI lifeboat out. Just as it got into UK waters, I think the wash possibly a wave or something, it tipped the boat a little bit and I think about eight or 10 people fell out. They went into the water.Four RNLI crews were scrambled to rescue migrants from the sea on Thursday morning “The RNLI responded with everything they had. The Ramsgate lifeboat, the Dungeness lifeboat and the Dover lifeboat all three lifeboats went straight to the area to assist. The Coastguard helicopter 163 went straight to the area to assist.“One of the RNLI boats was behind me and I watched him and it took him about 15 minutes quick. They raced there full speed. The Dover lifeboat was first on the scene, I think.

RNLI lifeboats were seen bringing dozens of migrants to shore at Dover on Thursday, meaning the number of people crossing the English Channel on small boats in the last five-and-a-half years could have passed 100,000.
