Rogers and Representative Slotkin will face off in Michigan's Senate race following their primary victories.
Tuesday's Michigan primary set up a contest between Democratic Representative Elissa Slotkin and former Republican Representative Mike Rogers for a U.S. senate seat.Rogers, a former FBI special agent and chair of the House Intelligence Committee, is now the state's Republican Senate candidate after winning more than 63 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.
That same poll found Slotkin performing better than the Democratic presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, who trails Trump, the GOP candidate, by 1 percentage point, 46 percent to 45 percent.Another poll around the same time found a slightly larger lead for Slotkin. Among 600 likely voters surveyed between July 22 and 24, Slotkin garnered 46 percent to Rogers' 41 percent, a Glengariff Group poll sponsored by WDIV/Detroit News found.
