Ali Munro and Laura Casey, both designers, spent £30 on sweets and biscuits to create a detailed model complete with a double bed made of marshmallows. They hope their sugary statement serves as a reminder of the severe housing crisis facing young people.

Ali Munro, 30, and Laura Casey, 31, decided to use their backgrounds as designers to create their dream home with a sweet twist: by building it with biscuits.

Assuming you saved only this amount every week, it would take you 51.3 years to save the average deposit. By which time, you’d likely be retired – and wouldn’t qualify for a mortgage anyway.
