One in four landlords are keeping deposits from renters when their tenancies end
A staggering 25% of UK renters are at risk of forfeiting their deposits to landlords, with new figures from the Deposit Protection Service indicating that one in four landlords retain deposits at the end of tenancies, reports Birmingham Live.
He further noted, "That said, a normal assured shorthold tenancy agreement and most local authority leases do not include repainting or maintaining the outside, or structure of the property as those are usually landlord responsibilities. It helps if you have an inventory which sets out the condition when you arrived."
