Millions of people in Mexico, 15 U.S. states, and eastern Canada will have the chance to see a total solar eclipse, while others will witness a partial eclipse. The eclipse will be visible along a path of totality that stretches across the continent.

One of the most highly-anticipated solar events takes place Monday -- and if you live in the Chicago area, there's a good chance you'll be able to see much of it., millions of people in Mexico , 15 U.S.

In Canada, the eclipse will be visible in parts of southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton, at the eastern end of Nova Scotia.
