Leeds United are one of the biggest draws in the Championship
Relegation back to the Championship has inevitably meant that Leeds United have a target on their back again. After three seasons mixing it with the Premier League big boys, Leeds again find themselves as one of the biggest - if not the biggest - clubs in the second tier, one that their rivals are desperate to take down.
And rivalries in the Championship don't get much more intense than the one Leeds will face on their return from the international break when they head to The Den to take on Millwall. Historically, there has been no love lost between Leeds and the Lions and this latest instalment of the rivalry has been bumped up to a Sunday lunchtime slot, with the match broadcast live on Sky Sports.
And despite the cameras being in town, it hasn't put off the home fans from wanting to be there in person to cheer their side on against Daniel Farke's men, as the 'sold out' signs have gone up in Bermondsey.Capacity at The Den is approximately 18,100 once segregation and crowd safety measures are accounted for, with the Lions home average totalling 14,767 fans during the 2022-23 campaign, again highlighting the draw that Leeds United are for many in the Championship this season.
Leeds will be looking to end a decade-plus-long wait for a win at The Den, with their last victory there coming in March 2012 when Ross McCormack scored the only goal of the game, while Thorp Arch graduates Jamie Shackleton and Charlie Cresswell will be looking to earn a victory over the side where they spent last season on loan at.
