Jack Black looks so tired Jason Momoa and Jack Black star in the first trailer for A Minecraft Movie, which doesn’t feature the Steve you’re expecting. Video game adaptations on television have greatly improved over the last few years, with the likes of The Last Of Us and Fallout, but most movies are still mediocre at best and, as the Borderlands film has shown, often not even that.
While any Minecraft movie is going to be primarily aimed at kids, this brief trailer doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that it’ll be anything above run-of-the-mill – especially as it feels like it’s following a very worn-out premise. A Minecraft Movie, as it’s officially titled, is directed by Jared Hess who is best known for directing 2004’s Napoleon Dynamite. He’s also previously worked with Jack Black on 2006 film Nacho Libre.
