The leaked minutes reveal the level of anger many MPs felt about the expulsion motion, with one ally of Mr Pesutto telling the opposition leader the expulsion motion was akin to 'shooting ourselves in the head.'
Minutes have emerged revealing in extraordinary detail what occurred when the Victorian Liberals met to decide Ms Deming’s fate, after the MP attended a Let Women Speak rally that was crashed by a group of Neo Nazis.
Former Bailieu government treasurer Kim Wells, a party veteran and ally of Mr Pesutto, told the Party leader that he couldn’t believe “how badly this has been handled.” While first-term MP Nick McGowan said he did not agree “for a minute” that Moira was a Nazi, but that if the motion passed she would be forever branded as one.

It leads to brand damage.Speaking about the release of the minutes, Sky News Australia’s Victorian political reporter Simon Love said that it was clear that for three-quarters of the meeting, Mr Pesutto still thought he could expel Ms deeming, but there was clearly a change about three-quarters of the way through the meeting.
