A small but toxic radioactive capsule which fell off the back of a mining truck has been found in the Australian outback.

WA’s Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson confirmed the “extraordinary result” in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.The radioactive capsule was found south of Newman. Picture: Getty ImagesIt was found by a team from the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

The capsule was reported missing on January 25, after being lost on a 1000km stretch of road somewhere between Perth and a mine site in the Pilbara region.WA Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson is giving an update on the missing radioactive capsule.
