Marcel Taret, the devoted carer for his 83 year old wife Paulette Landrieux, lost track of her in 2020 while she was battling Alzheimer's disease. Despite extensive searches and a missing person's case, Paulette's whereabouts remained unknown. Years later, an unexpected twist led to the discovery of her location.
The baffling case of an elderly woman's disappearance was finally unravelled two years after she went missing, thanks to the unlikely aid of Google Maps . Marcel Taret had been the devoted carer for his 83 year old wife Paulette Landrieux who was battling Alzheimer's disease.
On the fateful day of November 2, 2020, Marcel briefly left Paulette alone while he stepped outside to hang laundry. He had settled her in front of the television with a nice lunch, expecting her to be engrossed in her favourite programme upon his return. In desperation, Marcel contacted the authorities, and soon a search and rescue helicopter was circling above his Andenne home. Despite the growing anxiety, Marcel held onto hope that he would soon learn of his wife's fate. However, as darkness descended, there was no trace of Paulette.
Marcel had essentially accepted the grim reality that he would likely die without ever discovering what happened to his wife. However, an extraordinary coincidence helped unravel the mystery of Paulette's abrupt disappearance.
