Harlan Coben's latest thriller, Missing You, has arrived on Netflix but received mixed reviews. While viewers praise the star-studded cast, some criticize the on-screen chemistry and find the plot predictable.
Harlan Coben 's eagerly awaited new thriller Missing You has finally hit Netflix , but it seems not everyone is thrilled with the series. The latest offering - arriving hot on the heels of the smash-hit Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan - made its debut on New Year's Day. It centres around Katy Donovan who stumbles upon her long-lost partner on a dating app, despite not having seen him for a decade.
Nick Hilton from The Independent wasn't entirely impressed, awarding the show a mere two stars. He commented: "Of course, nobody, at this point, watches a Harlan Coben adaptation for the gripping interpersonal chemistry. This is television for the shattered attention span. Every few minutes there's a new twist to trigger the dopamine receptors in your brain and try to keep you from doom scrolling on Instagram for another few minutes, until the next twist," reports the Mirror.
The Standard's Hayley Spencer weighed in on the show, pinpointing it as an ideal post-New Year indulgence. "So as long as you're not expecting small screen mastery, or indeed the performance of year then do go forth and gobble up this latest Coben drama," she recommended. Just hours into 2025, viewers are already hooked on the series, taking to social media to express their pleasure. One viewer took to Twitter, saying: "New Year, same me. Starting the day with a Netflix binge I think. See what #MissingYou has to offer."
