Latest Nottingham Forest news as NottinghamshireLive looks at Reds players who headed elsewhere in transfer window
It has been a mixed start to the season for Nottingham Forest's players out on loan. The Reds have a number of players currently plying their trade elsewhere as they look to get regular game time this season. But some have been faring better than others during the opening weeks of the campaign. Forest will be keeping a keen eye on how all their loanees get on in the coming months. We take a look at how they have done so far.
Oli Hammond The 20-year-old made a bright start to his spell with the League One Robins, then had a spell on the sidelines due to injury. He made his comeback last month and has featured eight times in total, including making three starts in the league. However, it is proving to be a tough time for Cheltenham. They are bottom of the table, are yet to score a goal in the league and have registered just one point from 11 games.
“He came back up on Monday, his flight was delayed and he didn’t get in until about 4am,” Dees boss Tony Docherty said. “I told him to take the morning off and do his physio checks in the afternoon, but he wanted to be in first thing with the rest of the lads. I think that says a lot about him. He was desperate to get back and get going again. He’s well ahead of where we expected him to be.
The 29-year-old’s first start came in a 4-0 league win over Atromitos. On his second appearance in the XI, in a victory over Kifisia by the same scoreline, he is said to have had a good game. He has featured six times in total but hasn't been included in the squad for Olympiacos' past two games. He has been linked with a return to Brazil in January.
"He’s not been here long, Lewis, but he’s already played in a few different roles,” Carrick said. “I am conscious of that, and he’s not naturally that position . But I thought he suited the position for how we wanted to play in this game. Loic Mbe Soh The young defender headed to the Netherlands on deadline day. He has featured three times so far, including making his first start in a 2-0 win at FC Ultrecht last weekend.
