There are some differences here: Crawford was on pace to make more in arbitration than Hoerner currently is; he had agreed to a $4.85 million salary prior to signing the extension. Crawford also had a lot more big-league playing time, having played about 130 more games with 700 more plate appearances at the time of his extension than Hoerner has now.
The advantage in Hoerner’s corner: His 2022 season was better than anything Crawford had produced.
