The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) expects vehicular traffic along EDSA to surge on Tuesday, the start of the work week after the Holy Week break.

Col. Bong Nebrija, chief of MMDA's Task Force Operation and Anti-Colorum Unit, said that the agency sees the number of motorists and provincial buses to increase on Tuesday.

'Those last-minute vacationists are expected to be back in Metro Manila on Tuesday, as work and classes resumes,' Nebrija said.He said that public transport was operating normally as of Monday. Nebrija added that the MMDA's Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group personnel have been deployed in bus terminals to assist persons with disabilities, senior citizens and pregnant women.
