) - A 50-year-old man was arrested by Mobile County deputies Friday after they showed up at his door to investigate a reported probation violation, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said.
James Eugene Dees wound up being charged with five counts of unlawful possession of child pornography, four counts of Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act violations and a probation violation, the MCSO said.Dees is on probation for possession with the intent to distribute child pornography, the sheriff’s office said.
The MCSO said Dees admitted to detectives to having hundreds of photos and videos containing children on his phone but denied consent for a search of the phone. The phone was seized and will be searched after a search warrant is obtained, the MCSO said.
