Prine said during an interview with FOX10 News reporter Ariel Mallory that he had filed grievances against two senior officials, one in November and one in January. He did not name the employees or give precise details about the nature of the complaints. But he said Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s administration did not take either complaint seriously.“It wasn’t investigated, wasn’t looked into,” he said.
In the wide-ranging interview, Prine said he opposed continuing to fund Echo Stop. He called himself a “whistleblower” and suggested he was the victim of a “power struggle between some of those at the highest levels.” He also criticized a soon-to-be-released report by former U.S. Attorney Kenyen Brown that Stimpson ordered after a series of controversial shootings by police officers.
“The administration wanted to continue to find Operation Echo Stop, and because it has not been a success, tried to find a way to blame the chief.,” he said.
