Tropical depression Rosal, the country’s 18th cyclone in 2022, is now moving away from the Philippine landmass, but the state weather bureau said it is still expected to bring moderate to at times heavy rain showers in the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan on Sunday, Dec. 11.The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration , in its latest bulletin issued as of 5 a.m.
“Until noon, moderate to sometimes heavy rains will be experienced in MIMAROPA. We advise [residents of these areas] to be [vigilant] and careful because of the rains that may cause flooding and landslides,” said PAGASA Weather Specialist Aldczar Aurelio in a public weather forecast.Intensification into a ‘low-end’ storm
Rosal is no longer expected to make landfall, but PAGASA warned that it may intensify into a “low-end tropical storm” within 36 hours. “Increasing favorable conditions associated with the monsoon surge by late Monday, [Dec.12] or early Tuesday, [Dec. 13] will result in a weakening trend,” said PAGASA.
