Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah enjoyed another strong season individually, finding the net 30 times in all competitions in 2022/23
The Egyptian forward enjoyed another superb season in terms of goalscoring during 2022/23, netting a whopping 30 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions. Jurgen Klopp's side did somewhat falter in the Premier League, finishing 5th and therefore qualifying for the UEFA Europa League this season in the process.
Having finished in fifth back in 2022, Mo just missed out on the top 10 this time, with World Cup winner Lionel Messi largely expected to claim his eighth prize in Moanco later this evening. After six fellow team-mates were voted for the award in 2022, Salah is the only Liverpool player to have made the shortlist this year.
Finishing just ahead of Robert Lewandowski, Yassine Bounou, Ilkay Gündogan and Emiliano Martinez to claim the 11th spot, Salah was not in attendance at the ceremoney, after playing in Liverpool's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest just yesterday afternoon at Anfield. His goal capped off another impressive Reds performance, as Klopp's side continued their impressive start to the new season.
Having lost just once against current table-toppers Tottenham, Liverpool are also flying high in Europe, with Salah having already netted an impressive 10 goals in just 15 games in all competitions so far this term. Speculation, however, continues to gather momentum about the Egyptian international's imminent future at the club, given the advances seen by the Saudi Pro League across the summer months.
