Emmerdale viewers were left in shock tonight as Moira mistakenly called Cain 'Adam' during a moment of emotional vulnerability. The mix-up, which occurred after a discussion about Moira's brain tumour diagnosis, sparked confusion and speculation among fans. Some even believe it could be a hint at the return of Adam Barton, who left the village years ago.
After being told that she will needs surgery, Moira is given several options to try and control her brain tumour and seizures. One of the options she is told about is to take medicine for a few weeks then have a MRI scan which will see if it will get worse.
Later, in the corridor of outside Moira's hospital room, Mackenzie tells Cain to stop being selfish with his actions as it is about Moira and her recovery.The next time we see the family, Moira is finally home and she tells Cain that he needs to hear what they are facing. They kick Mackenzie and Caleb out of their house and Cain finally admits how he feels and tells Moira that he fearss the doctors are abandoning her by telling her she has to live with the tumour for now.
As they are continuing to talk about their options, Moira compares it to what Cain had several years ago where he needed an operation for an aneurysm in 2014 - which was life-threatening and her condition is not. Just as viewers thought tonight was going to end on a high - the couple go in for an embrace but Moira calls Cain, Adam - her son's name - instead, leaving Cain devastated. This has lead to some confusion as Adam left the Dales years ago and some fans can't remember who he is.While other fans who remember Adam Barton such as @jesscah22 who said "Dear. He's not Adam darling. #emmerdale."Some fans think it could be a hint of a return of Adam.
