Heartbreaking video shows officers and vets rushing to save K9 Enzo while his handler reassures him, 'you did so good, buddy. You're a good boy,' after he was stabbed in the line of duty.
The dramatic moment cops raced to save K9 Enzo who was stabbed in the line of duty by a violent murder suspect has been revealed in new bodycam footage.
He survived the attack and is now regaining his strength, the force said: 'These dogs are our heroes, putting their lives on the line the same as their human partners.'After Enzo was stabilized the staff decided he needed to be transferred to a more specialist hospitalThe hospital was 18 miles away and with rush hour traffic there was no way they would make it in time by car
Sharing the video of the aftermath of the attack, the force said: 'K9 Enzo did what he was trained to do. Go to the threat and protect our officers. In the process, a violent suspect stabbed Enzo. A group of staff carried Enzo in their arms and ran to a helicopter, loading him in to fly to the hospitalThe force said: 'These dogs are our heroes, putting their lives on the line the same as their human partners.'
After Enzo was stabilized the staff decided he needed to be transferred to a more specialist hospital.
