The Montgomery Games are set for Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl.

It’s a gaming retreat and an E-sports tournament. Organizers hope to use this event centered around video games to help steer young people in a positive direction. The Montgomery Games event invites middle and high school students to what’s billed as a “unique blend of entertainment, education, and career opportunities.” So, this is a lot more than playing video games. There’s also free food and prizes up for grabs.
It’s hosted by the Black Collegiate Gaming Association, designed to engage black and women of color college students in the overall gaming industry as consumers and contributors. It works to build up students who will be prepared to interview and become a part of the gaming industry both on the competitive and corporate levels.
