Police are continuing to carry out extra patrols

Three more people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Northampton on Sunday night. The as-yet unnamed victim died at the scene of the incident on New South Bridge Road.

Police announced today, April 26, that another three people, a woman aged 18 and two 19-year-old men, have also been arrested. Of these seven, three remain in police custody - two men aged 19 and a man aged 18 - while the other four have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Figures from across Northampton have expressed their "sadness" and "frustration" at the second fatal stabbing in the town just 32 days, after the death of student Fred Shand. Father Oliver Coss, rector of All Saints' Church, said: "These tragedies are no longer rare in Northampton, but they absolutely should be."
