He asked each of the players to write something inside their jumper that they wanted to be remembered for. “When Craig arrived at the club, he said ‘pick me because I’m a winner’,” says Browne, a former managing director of the Nine Network and chairman of Walkinshaw Automotive.
“You can’t just be Ted Lasso all the time,” he says. “You need to have a bad cop in the back pocket for when you need it. You have to remember Ted Lasso is fictional and would have been sacked by now.”
