BREAKING: More than 11,500 cops and soldiers policing the King’s coronation. There will be a huge police presence across London as the King is crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday afternoon.
According to commander Karen Findlay, who is leading the policing operation as Gold Command, there are also more visitors classed as ‘V-VIP’ attending the coronation than the Queen’s funeral.Police will be on high alert after the incident at the palace last nightSpeaking about the incident last night at a press briefing Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said that the man – reportedly called Daniel Huber – had approached officers asking to see a soldier at around 7.15pm on Tuesday.
When the officers said that was not possible, the man allegedly began throwing shotgun cartridges over the gates of Buckingham Palace. He was searched and allegedly found to be in possession of a lock knife, and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife and ammunition.
