Covid-19 has had a devastating impact in care homes bringing the grim tally to 12,526 - with the South East and North West being the worst affected regions.The coronavirus pandemic has spread through care homes like wild fireFigures from the Office of National Statistics show that between March 2 and May 1 care home deaths accounted for more than one in four coronavirus fatalities - 27.3 per cent.
Around 12 per cent of Covid-19 deaths have occurred in those who are under the age of 65, accounting for 4,066 deaths. - which is key when considering easing lockdown - is twice as high in the North of England than in London, new data shows. On Monday it was reported how men working in the lowest skilled jobs have the highest rate of death involving Covid-19, according to the ONS.
