A group of juveniles are facing charges after police say they released 52 bulls from stables in the New Holland Borough.

According to the New Holland Police Department, on May 20, officers responded to the 100 block of East Franklin Street at 10:13 p.m. for an animal complaint.

A caller told police there were around 50 bulls on the loose and that they'd been set free from the New Holland Sales Stables. Responding officers found bulls on the railroad tracks behind the New Holland Apartments and in the first block of S. Custer Avenue. With help from community members and employees of the New Holland Sales Stables, all 52 bulls were returned to the stables. After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting multiple interviews, investigators determined that six juveniles were responsible for releasing the bulls from the stables.

Police said that the juveniles are charged with risking catastrophe, criminal conspiracy to risking catastrophe, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal mischief, agricultural trespass, and criminal conspiracy to agricultural trespass.
