The annual event brings together hundreds of people from local churches to give back to the community and spread the love of God.
Hundreds of participants are gathering at Dothan High School for a week of unity and service while showing a little faith along the way.
“WIRED Ministries began in 2008. It started with five churches in a local church here in our community and has grown to where we are today,” said WIRED Ministries Executive Director Chase Faulk. “In this year, 2024, we have 29 churches participating, going to 45 different mission sites with 800-plus participants.”
Participants are helping in a variety of ways, including youth sports camps and PCY teams.“It’s been really cool to hear all these servants’ stories of how kids are just jumping in and sharing the gospel or doing jobs that are not always the most fun,” said Katie Chestnut, administrative intern for WIRED Ministries. “Maybe they don’t really like to weed the garden, but they’re doing it because they’re doing it in Jesus’ name. It’s sharing the light of him for all of the Wiregrass to see.
With how many people are participating, Faulk is excited to see how much more WIRED Ministries can grow. “There are leaders now in our organization that started as kids in our organization and it’s just again a beautiful picture of what it means to follow Jesus and grow in him and be used by him,” said Faulk.and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
