A serious accident on the M62 has led to extensive traffic congestion, with queues stretching over five miles on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 22 and 23. Traffic was halted for nearly an hour and a half, leading to severe delays.
There were queues of over five miles after a crash on the M62 this evening. The incident occurred on the eastbound carriageway between junction 22 for Saddleworth and junction 23 for Huddersfield, causing traffic to be stopped around 6:15pm. The crash resulted in significant tailbacks, which remained for more than 40 minutes after traffic was released. Delays peaked at over 45 minutes.
The traffic service Inrix reported that queueing traffic with delays of more than 20 minutes were still being reported, indicating that the congestion had not yet cleared
