Data from the Reach Data Unit shows 80,000 households will be eligible for the payment in Belfast
The Derry and Strabane and Belfast district council areas have the highest eligibility in the UK for the upcoming payments, which can be claimed by households in receipt of certain benefits.
Households on means-tested benefits will automatically receive £300 between October 31 and November 19, the Department for Work and Pensions says. That amounts to more than £2.4 billion in funding provided to families across the UK. The handout is the second of three cost of living payments adding up to £900. The next will be made in Spring 2024.
