Catch the Wind Kite Festival returns to the seafront
"Let's go fly a kite" are the famous words sung by Dick Van Dyke's Bert in Mary Poppins. And there's something quite mesmerising about watching colourful shapes and characters take to the skies, swooping and dipping in the breeze.
You can feel the sea air and watch from the promenade as the kites fly high above the bay with the beautiful Lake District fells as a backdrop. The free event falls on June 24 and 25 this year and will see professional kite flyers do their thing for hours.
