Morrisons' sweeping price cuts could help feed the family for less this summer
Supermarket giant Morrisons is setting up a summer of savings for its millions of customers by slashing the prices of 400 household favourites across its stores - with a plan to lock in the low prices for the entirety of the summer.
According to the Food Foundation, the nation's shopping baskets have gone up in value by 24 per cent since 2022, which has disproportionately affected families and those already on the breadline. However, with inflation falling to around three per cent and many of the big supermarket retailers competing on price for customers, households could soon start to feel the benefit of prices that are either lower, or at least not on the rise.
Recently, Parents Editor Emma Gill went into a Morrisons and was surprised at the competitive prices. She said: "But what impressed me most was the number of offers on many of the other items, especially branded ones, which made it cheaper than the likes of Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's for numerous items.
