Morrisons follows Tesco and cuts food prices in half for certain shoppers
Supermarket giant Morrisons has followed in the footsteps of Tesco, and has cut food prices in half for some shoppers. While some supermarkets offer deals for OAPs, NHS workers and those on Universal Credit, you won't need to fall into these categories to get the Morrisons discount.
To get the discount, Morrisons shoppers will need to sign up for a loyalty card. The scheme was first advertised in supermarkets last weekend. The new discounts ask shoppers to "scan and save", by using apps or physical My Morrisons cards, to get money off. Money-off deals are available on ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s - half price for people using the discount scheme.
The type of offer available, and the categories that we run the offers on, will evolve as we continue to listen to customer feedback." The deal is similar to one run by Tesco, where Clubcard users get exclusive discounts not available to other shoppers.
