Most New York State residents believe high school athletes should compete on teams aligned with their biological sex , according to a statewide poll released Monday.conducted by the Siena College Research Institute surveyed more than 800 registered New York State voters.
When broken down by political parties, mandating students compete based on biological sex is favored by Republican, Democrat and Independent respondents. Republicans demonstrated the greatest support at 83%, while 52% of Democrats showed approval.
