Cyclone Amphan has made landfall in India near the border with Bangladesh, officials said, bringing heavy rainfall and more than 100mph winds to areas already affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The storm, described by meteorologists as the most powerful on record in the Bay of Bengal, has seen more than 2.5 million people evacuated across the two countries.
