The company behind the Motability Scheme has released an update amid rising motoring costs
The summer price list for the Motability Scheme has been released. The company behind the scheme says there are now 815,000 customers across the UK who use the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme.
The latest summer price list for leasing packages has now been released on the Motability Scheme website, indicating there are now more than 840 vehicles available for selection. People receiving benefits such as Personal Independence Payment , Adult Disability Payment , Disability Living Allowance , War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement and Armed Forces Independence Payment are eligible to join the scheme.
Lisa Thomas, chief customer officer of Motability Operations, which operates the Motability Scheme, said: "The Motability Scheme connects disabled people to lifechanging freedom and independence. Not only does it help to connect people to the world around them, but it also opens up greater opportunities, with Scheme customers able to work an additional two days a week on average.
Choosing a car or wheelchair-accessible vehicle involves understanding the financial requirements. Some may require using part or all of the mobility award payment, while many necessitate an upfront payment that could range anywhere from £100 to £2,000.
