A mother dropped her young daughter off with a babysitter – then got high on heroin while dressed as the Cookie Monster, police say. Rachel Martin reportedly doped herself up on the illegal drug in her car shortly after leaving her nine year-old girl, who has autism, at his sitter’s house in West Newton, Pennsylvania, earlier this week.
That sitter contacted police after Martin reportedly brought the girl to her home in bare feet wearing nothing but pants and a t-shirt, despite the chilly 43F conditions outside. She told cops she feared Martin may have been on drugs, with the woman’s suspicions apparently confirmed when officers were sent out to investigate.
One police officer reportedly found Martin slumped over the wheel of her car, which was running, while dressed as the Sesame Street character. First responders were called and worked on reviving Martin with anti-overdose drug narcan.
