Karlee Mae Spear, 21, told officers she would only have remembered to get the baby out of her car had her elder four year-old child been in the car at the same time
Spear left the youngster in a roasting Nissan Xterra outside a Walmart store in Pea Ridge, Arkansas, on Sunday afternoon, with temperatures reaching 95F outside.
He is believed to have been in the car for around 30 minutes, and was found sweating profusely and struggling to breathe after police were called to the scene. The little boy was rescued by fellow shoppers Nathaniel and Michelle Holt, who were loading groceries into their car when they saw him trapped. They smashed the Nissan’s back window and got the baby out, before undressing him and taking him into the store to cool him down.
