Shakeetha Dancer reportedly left the boy and his two toddler siblings home alone and surrounded by bottles of chemicals.
said: ‘Throughout the house there were various open chemical bottles in reach of the children or just on the floor and open in the hallway.
‘There were bugs throughout the kitchen and hallway and the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned in a substantial amount of time.’Officers began canvasing neighbors, who said they hadn’t seen the kids’ mom or her car in at least a few hours. Dancer arrived back home as they called social services for help.
She told cops that she’d gone for dinner at a local restaurant, then went for a game of bingo, but did not provide an exact timeline, with investigators still trying to work out how long she’d been gone for. Dancer also claimed she’d asked a relative to care for her children while she was out, although the unidentified family member in question denied that claim when approached by cops.
The mom was arrested on three felony child endangerment charges, and taken to the local McLennan County Jail, where her bond was set at $22,500.
