The mother of the girl alleged to have been sexually abused by a WA MP has denied trying to mislead the District Court by initially not disclosing that she communicated with him after hearing of the allegations.
The mother then completed her evidence, but after the lunch break, prosecutor Sean Stocks recalled her to the courtroom and asked her if she had contacted Mr Hayward before going to the police. Under cross examination from Mr Hayward's barrister, Tom Percy KC, the woman said she had only told police and the prosecutor about the messages today.
