Emergency services sped to the scene around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon after a blaze took hold of the building closed five months ago due to spiralling costs.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.55pm on Sunday, April 16, officers were called to a report of a fire at a premises on Shields Road, Motherwell.Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for an update.
