Aberdeen were reduced to 10 men after Slobodan Rubezic was sent off for shoving Tony Watt, before Tawanda Maswanhise added a second goal for Motherwell . Ewan Wilson opened the scoring for the hosts. Before the red card and the second goal, Aberdeen had shown signs of mounting a dangerous attack. Dundee United and Hearts finished 0-0.
