The striker is back with the Steelmen and the signing has split opinion among the Fir Park faithful
Tony Watt is already eyeing a long-term future at Motherwell following his controversial loan return.
"With my contract running out next year, it's the perfect time to do well and then see if there's a lot longer life left in it at Motherwell." "It's in my hands to work hard but if the club want me, they can keep me. I'm ready to settle and ready to play and I will give it everything." But he said: "It wasn't hard to turn down, it was impossible to turn down. Now I'm back. That's part of life, you need to do what's right for your family.
"Motherwell made me feel at home the first time and, after a few weeks of boos, hopefully they can make me feel at home after that. I thrive off negativity and proving people wrong.""A big part of why I couldn't settle at Dundee United is because of the contract I was offered," the former Celtic player said.
Reports claimed Watt fell out of favour under United boss Jim Goodwin because of his fitness levels after the summer."United have signed 12 players, mostly from foreign clubs. I can see they're going down a different route and that's fine. They're probably trying to bring players and develop them and sell them.
