Seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi will test an LMP2 car for the first time in this Sunday’s World Endurance Championship rookie test in Bahrain.
Rossi will drive an Oreca 07 operated by WRT on November 5, a day after the conclusion of the 2023 WEC season with the 8 Hours of Bahrain, with the aim of competing in the championship in the future. The LMP2 test will serve as a precursor to the Italian’s planned run in the BMW M Hybrid V8 before the end of the year as part of his factory role with the German manufacturer. “I’m very happy to be trying the LMP2 for the first time!,” said Rossi, who will turn 45 in February next year.
